Learning Resource Center

The Ellet High School LRC is an extension of the classroom, providing a place for independent study and intellectual growth in a quiet atmosphere.

Emphasis is placed upon individual investigation skills and the development of self-confidence in the exploration of problems introduced in the classroom. Students should be able to strengthen skills in reading, thinking, and keeping abreast of current events.

Our books in the regular collection circulate for two weeks, with renewals made necessary when requested. Selected Reference books may also circulate for the same two-week period with renewals when requested by the students. Occasionally, a teacher will place a collection of books on reserve for a specific assignment. These items do not circulate.

Students MUST have a student/parental permission form signed and on file in our main office to use the Internet in the LRC. Students may check with the Library Media Specialist or the Library Technical Aide to see if they have been given Internet access. Internet permission forms may be obtained in the LRC or the main office.

The Student Library Assistants give their time and talent to help faculty members and their fellow students. Students with good attendance records and strong academic grades and citizenship are encouraged to talk with the LRC staff about signing the volunteer list. Doing volunteer work is a good habit to have in life.
